Construction on the Fixed Pier Set to Begin

Construction on a permanent fixed pier connecting Brittlebank Park to The Bristol Marina will begin in early February with a completion date set for late March.  “Complete with gazebo, the new pier will match the original pier at the south end of The Bristol Marina.” states Robbie Freeman, Managing Partner of The City Marina Company.  “The new facility will attract water-related events to Downtown Charleston like the Dragon Boat Festival that is only a few weeks after the boat show.” (May 3, 2008)

The new pier has been permitted since The Bristol Marina’s inception in 2001. The pier is a key link in the Riverwalk that will eventually connect Brittlebank Park to the lower peninsula.
